The Deal...
A ride from Huntington Beach to San Diego (Mission Beach) over 2 days including 1 night beach camping. Total Distance: 85 Miles - 2 Days - 50 miles/day. We'll make this a fun trip with plenty of stops along the way chilling, eating and culminating in drinking on the beach in SD. We can take the train back up ($29) or we can get my brother Ken to drive us back.
When: July 11th-12th (Friday/Saturday) although I'm pushing for July 10th / July 11th so we can PARTAY in SD ALL NIGHT LONG on Friday.
Can this really be done? YES it can. There's about a month between now and the ride to do some mild training. The ride is supposedly pretty flat since it follows the coast.
Equipment: Bicycles, any kind, but if they're heavy you'll have to deal with that. I can scrounge 1 or 2 additional ones up from people to borrow.
I know a lot of us will be hesitant to do this but it's not a race, it's an experience.
